Goodbye Smart, Hello Globe

It's been a month since I had my first glance at this very cute, very gurly and very tempting SE K610i. Right then and there I fell in love with it. I promised to myself that by hook or by crook, I would get this phone. Hmmm... but how? Should I buy a unit, should I avail a plan from smart or globe or should I include it in my wishlist come christmas (how pathetic!)? :).

Well, being a kuripot that I really am :), I opted to have this unit through the latest promos of smart or globe. In that way, I could get my phone at the chepeast way :). Oh well, started to inquire on their promo plans. Globe had this unit free at plan 2500 but unfortunately, Smart did not include this product on theirs. Since I am a Smart subscriber from the very first time that I had a cellphone 5 years ago, I decided to have the SE K608i instead (somehow close to K610i) and have it for free at plan 800. So, I prepared all the requirements needed, from a photocopy of valid ID, phone and credit card bills, ITR and paylips, I had it all. When I was about to submit it to the Ayala branch of Smart Wireless Center, the agent told me that "sorry this unit is no longer available here in our branch, why don't you try somewhere else." I said, "Ok". I was a bit frustrated but not hopeless. Instead, I planned a "mall tour" wherein I would visit each and every branch of Smart Wireless Center from Monumento to Shangri-la until I get the phone that I want. You see, it shows how much I really wanted to have this.

Sunday, August 27... the first stop (and turned out to be the last) was at SM North Edsa. Together with my nanay, we went straight to the Smart Wireless Center just to find out that the SE K608i was no longer available, NATIONWIDE!!!! Nationwide, meaning there is no use to go to other smart centers all throughout the Philippines... grrr..... I was really frustrated and I couldn't hide it.. haayy... :(

While on our way to have our lunch at the main bldg of SM City, I had this thought of switching to Globe. Well, I said to myself, why not? If I do so, I could have my dream phone and forget all the disappointments that I got for the past 5 days. Hmmm... I went to Globe Center, just a few stores away from Smart. I asked for the requirements, availability of the phone, charges and lastly I asked the agent how long would it take to process my application. And he calmly said, "Do you have a credit card, ma'am?". I replied, "Yes, I do." And he responded, "Oh well, if your credit limit is over P25,000, I could give you the unit right away." :) :) :-) Hehehehe... this statement of his finally convinced me. After about 30 minutes, I already had my dream phone!!!!! Yahoooooo!!!! But since my preferred color is not available (in the Philippines daw), I settled for the Urban Silver. Mas oks sana kung merong Evening Red.

So guys, will update you of my new cell number as soon as my sim gets activated. :)
