One of the basic things in life that my parents taught me is to work hard and save more if I want to buy something that is beyond my capacity. And I have proven that a gazillion times already.  From small things such as stationeries when I was a kid up to gadgets and appliances that I have bought myself thru hardwork and countless overtime work.

But of course there is still a lot in my list and since life is getting tougher everyday, financially speaking,  I have to find ways to get what I want without giving up what is essential.

Been trying to look for a source of extra income for the past months but, couldn't find any. So, I decided to try the old school way of saving instead. And here it is:

10's, 2's, 1's, .50's

Yeah, I know it will take forever to get these full but hey, there's no other best time to start but now! :)  And so far, I'm doing good! :) Just wait for me, PRADA :)

A Thank You Letter

With this simple blog entry, I want to thank Singapore's Archbishop Nicholas Chia for his heartwarming message to the congregation yesterday in the 11AM Mass at St. Bernadette Church.  He asked for everyone's help to extend their talents and gifts to the victims of the recent Southwest Monsoon that caused massive destruction and flood in Manila and nearby provinces. He did not only call for it once, but twice.... first, in the Homily and second, just before the service ended.

It was an overwhelming feeling as a Filipino Christian that such gesture was initiated by the highest official of the Singapore's  Catholic Community. I felt his sincerity to help by informing the people of this unfortunate event that struck my beloved country and asked them to share their blessings with the victims. He didn't have much words to say, actually. Simple words, simple message.

Once again, thank you for the loving gesture and for including the Philippines in your prayers.

Birthday 2012

No matter how many times I have traveled back and forth to Manila, excitement never fails to occupy me.  Moreso, it will be my first time to welcome my birthday on board the plane.  And what makes this vacation more exciting is my upcoming HK-Macau vacation with my parents.

Anyhoo, I'll make another blog entry regarding that trip.  In this post I just want to share how I celebrated my 32nd year with family and friends back home.

Out of the 12 friends I invited, only 4 took time and put so much effort to join me on this post-bday treat.  Tabel, Nikki, Don and Bryce... thanks so much for traveling all the way from South of the Metro, didn't mind of the EDSA traffic amidst the super humid weather.  Love yah, guys!

The last time I celebrated my birthday with my cousins around was in 1998, we were all school-ers then :)  And now, 14 years after, I am grateful and thankful for this "little reunion" of the Gutierrezes.

World's Best Destination

I guess for most of you, this isn't a big deal... and for some, probably, they've already been to almost all the wonderful places listed here.  But I don't care! :D  I swear.... I'll go to ALL these places before I take my last breath!!! :D My only consolation for now is that, at least I've been to the 2nd best beach in the world several times and been to (and will be back to) the 10th best destination in the world!
