Thanks, Niks! :)

I was on sick leave last Monday because of a fever and difficulty in peeing. The following day, I asked Nikki to accompany me at the Makati Med to undergo a check-up. We went to the out-patient department first and looked for a Urinologist. But since I was experiencing a severe pain in my lower body, Nikki advised me to go to the emergency instead. There, I was given a pain killer and had my urine examined. While the nurse was injecting the pain killer into my system, I couldn't help but cry. The needle itself was painful plus the fact that I could feel the liquid flowing through my veins. Arrgggghhh!!! Nikki was laughing at me, hmpf!!! :P

After paying my bills amounting to P2200++, we went to KFC to have lunch. At around 3pm, I went back to the hospital to get the result of my urinalysis and the doctor advised me to go to a specialist (Urinologist) because my test showed that there is a blood in my urine which might be kidney-related. I went back to the out-patient bldg. and looked for this doctor which was given to me by the lady at the Information. Upon looking at the result of my urinalysis, the doctore quickly advised me to have an ultrasound. I might have "stones" in my kidney that caused the blood in my urine. The doctor's lady assistant called the ultrasound department and asked them to prioritize me.

I went straight to the laboratory and submitted the doctor's request. The lady attendant told me that they could no longer accommodate me and have it scheduled the following week. I was surprised since my case needs an immediate result. I told them that I was the patient of Dr. ********** and his assistant already called them a while ago. She checked their records inside and she immediately gave me a form.

While I was taking the ultrasound, I was nervous and teary-eyed, it was my first time to be in this situation. Since I was a kid, I only had my hospital check-ups for my tonsilitis and nothing more. I was all alone this time. I had no one to talk to... I had no one to lean on... poor candy.

Went back to get the ultrasound result at 6pm. Again, Nikki accompanied me. After reading the result, I was relieved! No signs of abnormalities in my kidneys. The doctor said that the stones in my kidney were too small to be seen. So, he prescribed 2 kinds of medicines to wash away these tiny little things.

Lastly, I dedicate this blog entry to Nikki, for being there when I needed it most. Lav yah! Mwahhhhh!!!! :*

Michelle M. Co

June, 1996 when we first met. But we never really got close until we became part of one barkada. A set of friends that went through happy and sad times. Her home in Singalong Manila was like a 2nd home to us. We spent countless overnights, christmas parties even a simple get-together in their home. 4 years of solid college barkadahan. When we graduated, I thought it would be the end of the closeness that we developed, fortunately, it was just a start of a stronger and better friendship.

I remember those times when we both searching for our first job. Wherever she goes, I go... wherever I go, she goes. We never found what we were looking for until we decided to part ways. She got her first job in November of 2000 while I got mine a month after. Since then, we seldom see each other. We became busy and excited with our new lives. Many thanks to email and cellphone that we still keep updated of each others new ventures.

In 2004, she moved to Makati... few months after I transferred to my second job. Special thanks to Instant Messaging, we were able to chat as often as we wanted. I could say we really got closer from this time on, we discussed about a lot of things... career, family, future, gimiks. There were times when she spent lunch with me in the office.

And last year, when I had the biggest turn-around of my life, she was there. Through my ups and downs, she was always there... someone that I could talk to... someone who listened... someone who supported me all the way... someone who bravely told me that I was not doing the right thing and yet she did not leave me.

October 3, 2006.... "Che, masama loob ko.. parang gusto kong umiyak... pede ba taung mag-lunch? Punta ako sa dyan sa inyo.. sabayan kita.. actually wala akong ganang kumain... kailangan ko lang ng kausap.. pede ka ba?" Mitch said, "Sure tara... sabay tau.. hmmm.. libre kita ng masarap na pasta."

It was such a memorable moment... she never hesitated to accompany me... took time out from her busy sked and sat beside me to listen.

Now that she's leaving to face new challenges in her life, all I can say is.... Goodluck, Che!!! I will surely miss you! Thanks for being a true friend..... I hope our friendship will grow each day.. though we're apart.... I know we will always be there for each other no matter what :) See you soon! :D

Lessons Learned

Lessons that the year 2006 had taught me:

January - Do not say "yes" if it is a NO.

February - Fight for what you believe in.

March - Learn to forgive.

April - Celebrate life.

May - Don't be hasty.

June - Be sensitive.

July - Be specific on your prayers, never underestimate God's generosity.

August - Listen attentively to what others would have to say. A little misinterpretation might cause a lifetime of suffering.

September - Take chances, take a lot of them.

October - Show your emotions, don't be afraid to let the world know how you feel.

November - Love, just love... and forget about why.

December - Learn your lessons well... be thankful... do the right thing.

Bonding con Shopping

Sunday.... I woke up a bit late... it was already 10:30 am when I decided to separate myself from bed. It was a gloomy day. My mother attended a birthday party in Batangas, my kuya was at work, good thing tatay took a vacation leave and stayed with me in our home. But, I felt the emptiness and loneliness that the day brings. Tatay cooked pork sinigang and had our lunch together. Afterwards, I texted my friends, det and mitch, just to say hi and hello. I told them that I was feeling down and I had nothing to do on that day. Then Mitch asked me if I wanted to go shopping with her. With no hesitations, I said YES!!! I suggested to spend the rest of the day at the SM Mall of Asia. Aside from shopping, we could also watch the 2nd World Pyro Olympics later that night.

The first damage of the day was a pair of jeans from Folded 'n Hung.Followed by a belt from Mint, earrings from Penshoppe and MFG shoulder bag. There was this nice green skirt that I spotted in U2. I almost bought it but Mitch kept on asking me, "Nag-i-skirt ka ba? Saan mo isusuot yan? Pag-isipan mo muna." Hehehehe.... in the end... she prevailed... bwehehehehe.....

After shopping and meryenda, we waited for the the fireworks competition at the seaside.
