Teens Once Again :)

Friday is gimik day and the best way to start the night is to spend merienda with your buddies :). Tabel, Nikks, Don and I had our merienda (actually, dinner na rin) session at KFC People Support. I had chicken burger, french fries and a diet pepsi. To be honest, the food was not enough to satisfy my hunger that time, but with tons of kwentuhan and kulitan... hehehe...solb! ;) Right after the session, Tabel went straight to her office to get her things while the rest of us decided to play pingpong. The initial plan was to have some drinks at Cena and by 11pm, I'll be going home and they will watch Lady in the Water. We had a very energetic, intriguing and hilarious pingpong session. Imagine, 4-on-4.. whew!!! Anywayz, after playing, I actually invited everyone to have some drinks at LKG. But, Nikks said, LKG was already closed. So, everybody agreed to spend the night at Cena.

The first batch of drinkers(drinkers talaga.. hehehehe..:D) were Beng, Gary (friend of Mike), Earl, Paul, Don, Nikks, Tabel and Candy (ako un!). After about 3 or 4 bottles of frozen gin pomelo, Pau, OJ, Joy and Franco arrived. Soon, the fun started. We were like teens again, teasing this girl , that guy, that girl, this guy... whew! We had conversations that you could only hear from teenagers... well, we are young pa naman, right guys? :D The first casualty of the night was Beng... followed by me and Tabel. Nakalimutan ng manood ng sine... hahahaha...

Second stop was at Ice Vodka Bar. Did not dance too much, just let Don and Nikks do the shaking :). We did not stay long at Ice and after a few drinks, we decided to go back to the office and have some noodles. Paul did the driving since Tabel was a bit tipsy that night. After an hour of sleep, I decided to go home and leave Don and Earl sleeping while Tabel and Nikks were already home, I guess. :D

Winnie the Pooh and Hello Kitty

Yesterday, I went to SM Megamall to meet Ailleen, a friend and an ex-officmemate. We met in front of Powerbooks and proceeded immediately to Sbarro to have a dinner. We had baked ziti with white sauce and a bottled water for her and a coke lite for me. It's a nice feeling to see an old friend and talk about anything and everything that happened for the past year. We talked about our work, our colleagues and her lovelife (sorry, wala akong ma-se-share :P). We spent an hour and a half at Sbarro (buti na lang konti tao..:P) just talking..talking and talking :D. She had a lot of stories to tell since she went to Japan last year and early this year.

Thanks, Ailleen for the pasalubongs(kahit inabot ng 3 buwan bago ko makuha.. hehehe... ) a pair or lovely chopsticks and a winnie the pooh cellphone accessory which I turned into a bracelet... hehehehhee... Looking forward to that blue hello kitty purse that you said you bought for me but unfortunately you forgot where you placed it.

Helping Others

When I was still a kid, my father used to tell me lots of things about life. :P Anyways, something happened to me yesterday that reminded me one of my father's "mga ginintuang-aral".

At kung me pagkakataon kang tumulong, 'wag mong palampasin, sayang.

At kung me pagkakataon kang tumulong, 'wag mong palampasin, sayang.

I may sound childish here, pero shock lang talaga ako. Nakakasama lang ng loob, dahil during those times na siya ang nangailangan ng tulong, I was there to help. And now that it's my turn to ask for one, he did not even bother to ask the cause of the problem, he just said "ay di ko alam 'yan.. " sabay talikod. Good thing, though, I was able to control my temper, very unlikely of me hehehehe... siguro dahil kami ay professional, I should handle this professionally. I did not expect naman na ma-so-solve nya 'ung problem, pero naman... ano ba naman yung magpakita ng katiting na concern. Sad to say, wala... wala.. wala... akong napala.

When a Stranger Calls

Candy: "Hello, sino to?"
Batang lalaki: "Sumagot...sumagot..."

Candy: "Ano, sinong Mark?"

IMAX Experience

July 2, 2006 was not an ordinary day:

Agenda #1: Watch Superman Returns with my family at IMAX.
Agenda #2: Get updates from friends about the Mano-a-Mano fight.
Agenda #3: Watch game 7 of PBA semifinal series.

I already had my entry for Agenda #3. Now it's time to talk about our IMAX experience :D.

Woke up at 6 am, took a bath, had a very heavy breakfast (thanks to Kuya for the spaghetti, french fries and clubhouse from Tropical Hut.. yummy....). My nanay and I attended a mass at 8am and met my tatay and kuya after. At exactly 10am, we found ourselves in front of the biggest mall in the Philippines, SM Mall of Asia. Since the screening time is at 12nn, I decided to treat my family to Starbucks first. We had cappucino, cafe americano, hot chocolate, mango juice, cinnamon bread and chocolate banana loaf.. :D Actually, it was the first time for us as a family to had coffee together at Starbucks, sweet... ;).

At 11:30 am, I bought popcorn, peanuts and drinks (baon namin.. :P) and we went straight to the cinema lobby. To our surprise, due to technical problems encountered (again!), the 12nn sked was moved to 1:30. Grrr!!!
:D. While waiting, Pau was updating me of the Pacquiao-Larios fight. As expected, Pacquiao won by a unanimous decision.

Couldn't hide my excitement when an usher announced that we could get inside the moviehouse na. And in just a few minutes, movie trailers of Antz, Happy Feet and T-Rex in 3D were shown. :P. And now, for the main feature.... Superman Returns!!!! :D.

All I wanted was to experience the 3D feature of the film. Aside from the fact na syempre excited din akong makita ulit si Superman and yung story na rin :). I have observed that:

1. It was more of a love story between Lois Lane and Superman than Superman being a superhero;
3. Nagpunta pala ng Manila si Superman, bakit hindi ko nabalitaan.. :P;
4. No confirmation that Jason is Superman's son;
5. Hanep ang 3D, the best!!!

In the end, sulit ung P350... :D.

After the movie, we had lunch/merienda at Sbarro.. my kuya bought a pair of pants... and then... parang hinihila ang mga paa ko na makauwi. We decided to take a cab and in less than an hour, nasa bahay na kami...

Sunday is a family day, indeed!

Purefoods vs Red Bull

I wasn't able to watch Game 6 last Friday on TV so, I just asked my nanay to give me blow-by-blow updates (maraming salamat talaga sa nakaimbento ng cellphone... :D). While having merienda with a bunch of officemates at Yellow Cab, I couldn't help but to worry, it could be the Beermen's last this season. Whew! At last, got the final score...116-101, SMB forced a game 7 :).

Sunday, 2nd of July 2002, while the whole nation was preparing for the Mano-a-Mano fight of Manny Pacquiao and Oscar Larios, I was busy thinking of 2 things, Superman Returns and the 7th game of SMB/Red Bull series. After watching the Man of Steel at IMAX (please see my other entry.. :D), my family and I hurriedly went home. I need to watch what turned out to be SMB's last game this season.

We got home at around 6pm and the 1st game was still undecided. Few minutes later, Purefoods booked the first seat to the finals with 90-89 win over Alaska after being down in the series at 1-3, the Chunkee Giants made history after being only the 2nd team to win in a best-of-7 series after a 1-3 start.

After half an hour, the 2nd game started. I don't know but, my instinct worked again. I knew this was going to be our last game this season. SMB did not play the way that they used to play during 2nd, 4th and 6th games.
Their shots did not fall in, open shots, at that. Dondon Hontiveros, though working like a horse in defense, still a missing factor in offense, he did not score at all :( Chris Calaguio, after a great game last Friday, only managed to score 5 points. It was only Kiko Adriano who had a good game from the bench players, others, whew! Nowhere to be found. They were down by only 6 points inside the last 2-minute mark, and I must admit I was hopeful that they could snatch this game. 84-82, Red Bull lead, SMB possession. Seigle committed his 8th turnover in the game. Possession goes back to RB, luckily they had an error and the basketball returns to SMB. After the timeout, Danny Ildefonso left wide-open beyond the arc and he released the ball, missed! Seigle had the rebound and was fouled by Junthy Valenzuela while trying to go for a lay-up. He calmly sanked 2 free throws and with 3.7 seconds left, Red Bull had the ball and Yeng Guiao called for time. As the game resumes, Enrico Villanueva had the ball, double-teamed, kicked the ball out to Pennisi and though free at the 3-pt line, he opted to pass the ball to Valenzuela at the left-corner court... kaboooommm!!! With no time left, the shot went in. I was speechless, I did not utter a single word. Though, I was expecting that SMB wouldn't make it, but not this way. It was a HEARTBREAKER.... :((
